surroundings

't Uzzetje is located in the Hoogstraat, one of the more quiet and authentic streets in the historic city center of Nieuwpoort. The street reaches from the quayside (Kaai), with its many fish shops, and the city’s fish market (Stedelijke Vismijn) to the church (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk) located on the market square (Marktplein).

It’s easy to reach the seafront by bike or on foot and the beach via the Havengeul promenade.

Nieuwpoort has a lot to offer. Discover some of our must sees below or visit www.visit-nieuwpoort.be/en .

the city’s fish market

The local fish market has a rich history and remains a popular attraction to this day. There are many colourful boats to be found along the quayside. In the mornings, there is a fish auction where the local dealers buy their fish. You can buy daily fresh fish or local shrimp on the Kaai any day.
